Arrange a consultation
with a family law solicitor

Free initial assessment

We want you to choose the service that is right for you and we understand that you may need a little help with that decision.

It isn’t easy, for example, to choose between a separation agreement or an immediate divorce with a consent order.

That’s why, if you complete our questionnaire, we will tell you your options in a clear, straightforward way. That means we will tell you:

  • Which of our services we think are suitable for your circumstances;
  • Why we think one may be more suitable than another;
  • How to access free government services we feel may be useful to you, including online divorce services provided by the court service; and
  • If we think our services are not suitable for you at this time and why not.

We want to help you, to make the choice that is right for you. If that means referring to you to another service provider, such as a mediation service or a barrister or another solicitor, we will do.

Our free initial assessment service is done exclusively via email and online questionnaire. However, if you feel that you would benefit from a more detailed discussion, there are other paid options available as well.  See below for more details.

One off consultations

You may want to take advice without feeling under any pressure to take up a particular service.

We will not try to persuade you to use further services during any consultation. We provide advice during a consultation, not a sales pitch.

How long is a consultation likely to last?

Consultations vary in length.

A consultation to go over the terms of an agreement already in place, takes less time than one to discuss all options, the approach of the court and so on.

An average consultation lasts between 30 minutes to an hour and costs between £90 and £180.

Paying for a consultation

If you are a new client I will let you know how long I think we will need to set aside for a call before you make the appointment. I will also invoice you beforehand.

Existing clients may be invoiced separately or along with other work carried out.
