How much does a deed of trust cost?

paying anything towards the purchase of a property and you will not be a registered owner;

buying a property with another person and you are not married to them;

re-mortgaging a property to release funds to another joint owner;

someone is moving in with you and you have equity in your home; or

you are moving into someone’s else’s property and making a financial investment.

what your legal status in relation to the property is;

whether there are any tax implications;

if your rights to leave your property/money by will are affected.

How much does a deed of trust cost?

My deed of trust service costs £275 for a single deed/property.

This includes:

explaining what can be recorded in a deed of trust and how it is registered at the land registry;

helping you to decide more specifically what you need in your trust deed;

drafting your bespoke deed of trust;

guidance on valid execution of the deed; and

application for registration at the land registry.

What if you already have a conveyancing solicitor?

In many cases you will also have a conveyancer, for example if you are in the process of buying or re-mortgaging the property.

Often conveyancing charges are included in the price of your mortgage.

Conveyancers deal with changes to the legal ownership of property. Generally they also act for your mortgage lender at the same time.

Dealing with the beneficial ownership is separate from standard conveyancing although it tends to be done at the same time.

I will work with your conveyancer, where necessary, to ensure that the deed of trust is registered with any other changes of ownership or mortgage lender.
